Ground 0

I always end up here, and I am always starting over. But that’s life, I guess. Might as well enjoy the wine whille we are here.

I think at this point I have lost track of the number of times that I have attempted a blog. I would like to estimate around 10 times, with little to no success every time. I say that, but I don’t even know what success looks like when blogging. Anyways, here is attempt number 11ish.

Every time I restart the blog process, I struggle to decide what style of blog I want to write. There are so many topics that I could cover, but I am not an expert in any of them. With that being said, no one is an expert in life. Some people make better decisions and receive better opportunities. However, no one can say that they have mastered life and make no mistakes. I refuse to say that I am qualified in any sense to be telling people how to live their lives or what choices to make. I am confident enough to share my life experiences and my mistakes with the rest of the world. Why not share the knowledge and let everyone learn from my bad decisions?

This year, I want to romanticize my life. I know, it’s such a cliche right now. Every girl in her 20s is finding some way to romanticize the little things in her day-to-day. Is that a bad thing though? If everyone is doing it, there clearly has to be some sort of benefit to it. It’s a rebrand of “enjoy the little things.” Conveniently, I have that exact quote tattooed on my forearm. Shoutout to Zombieland for engraining that in my brain many years ago and never letting me forget it. Shoutout, also, to my 18-year-old brain for deciding that a Zombieland quote would make a good tattoo.

I am determined to become *that* girl. A glow-up is essential at this point. I want to take you all through my journey of how I plan to achieve this transformation.

We are going to be struggling through this together. I don’t have a plan or blueprint for how this is going to go. I like to live life on a whim, and this blog will be no exception. I would like to talk about topics such as skincare, haircare, gym routines, and daily routines. It is going to feel extremely random, but so is life. If you have any topics that you want me to touch on, please leave a comment letting me know.

I have decided that the easiest way to start is one step at a time. If I can improve my life in one aspect at a time, it will alleviate the stress of trying to change everything in a day. Discipline is what I want to get good at first. Discipline ultimately decides whether it will work in the long run or not. I can be good at discipline for a while, but then easily fall back into bad routines after a week or two. This proves that I am, in fact, NOT good at discipline. The first thing I would like a disciplined routine for is my skin care. I am great some days, but not consistently great. I tend to skip the nighttime face wash and do the bare minimum in the morning. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a very minimal skincare routine. However, I am not even using SPF most days… There are some things I need to improve on. Here is the following steps I will execute daily:\

  1. Wash my face within 30 minutes of waking up
  2. Toner
  3. Serum
  4. Moisturizer
  5. SPF

Nighttime Routine:

  1. Makeup remover
  2. Face wash
  3. Serums
  4. Moisturizer
  5. Pimple patches

This is a pretty simple and easy routine to follow. I have to make it simple and easy to reduce the number of excuses I can make in my brain for not completing these steps. It may seem like I’m cheating by making it an easy routine, but that is what is going to work best for me. Feel free to make any changes to your routine. Every person is different, and every mind works differently.

Tomorrow morning is day 1. It is a Monday that just happens to be the first of the month. It is extremely convenient, and I adore convenience. I hope to keep you all updated weekly on the progress. I want to use this blog as a way to give people the accountability they may need, but also to keep me accountable. It will still be difficult for me, and I hope that I remain consistent for myself and for you all. We deserve a life that we are happy in ❤

Love,

Tootie
